Classes 6, 7 & 8

Academic Structure, Assessment & Promotion Guidelines

Academic Year Division

  • 1st Term: April to September
  • 2nd Term: October to March

Assessments

Four assessments will be conducted during the year:

  1. Pre-Mid
  2. Mid
  3. Post-Mid
  4. Annual
  • The dates of the assessments will be shared through the school planner.
  • Report Cards will be issued at the end of each assessment.

Attendance Requirement

  • A student must have a minimum of 75% attendance in each term.
  • Students with attendance below 75% will not be permitted to appear for examinations and may be declared ineligible for annual promotion.

Examination Rules

  • The use of unfair means or possession of unauthorized materials during any examination will result in the cancellation of the student’s entire term results.
  • Students who help others in such misconduct will be considered equally guilty and will face the same consequences.
  • For such cases, performance in each term’s assessments will be reviewed while deciding eligibility for promotion.

Answer Scripts

  • Answer scripts will be shown to students after marking for all terms except the Annual Examination.
  • Once results are declared, no changes will be made in marks.
  • Annual Exam scripts may be shown to parents, if required, within 7 working days from the distribution of Report Cards, with written permission from the Principal.

Promotion Criteria

  1. The qualifying pass percentage is 33%.
  2. To be promoted, a student must qualify in English plus any 5 other subjects.
  3. A minimum of 75% attendance throughout the year is mandatory.
  4. If a student fails in the Final Assessment, he/she will be administered an Improvement Test.

  • Reporting Time: 8:25 am
  • QP Distribution: 8:50 am
  • Reading Time: 8:50 am – 9:00 am
  • Writing Time: 9:00 am – 10:30 am
  • Short Break: 10:30 am – 10:50 am
  • Zero Period: 10:50 am – 12 noon
  • Dispersal Time: 12:05 pm

Regular classes commence from 10.12.2025 for Classes 6–8.
